Malaysia’s Destini’s S’pore unit to supply 6 lifeboats to SapuraAcerg
KUALA LUMPUR: Destini Bhd’s Singapore-based subsidiary, Vanguard Composite Engineering Pte Ltd, has received an order of six lifeboats and integrated davits from SapuraAcergy Sdn Bhd.
Destini is an integrated engineering solutions provider while Vanguard manufactures lifeboats, fast rescue boats, davit systems and a host of other safety equipment for the marine, and oil and gas industry.
In a statement here yesterday, Destini said four out of the six lifeboats would be 8.5m long, while two would be 12.05m-totally-enclosed lifeboats, providing a capacity of 320 on the portside and 320 on the starboard side.
Vanguard chief executive officer Alastair Bisset said the new lifeboats and davits were destined for Sapura 3000, a deep water heavy-lift and pipe-laying vessel.
“Our lifeboats are designed and manufactured to SOLAS 86 regulations and adhered to stringent safety requirements,” Bisset added. Destini acquired a majority stake in Vanguard in 2013 as part of a strategic move to increase its product innovation. – Bernama
